How Two-Factor Authentication Works

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account. Instead of just a password, you'll need a unique, time-sensitive code from your physical device to log in.

TOTP Protocol

Our system uses the Time-based One-Time Password protocol. This means your phone and our server stay in sync without needing an internet connection.

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Choose an Authenticator

We recommend Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator. These apps generate secure, 6-digit codes every 30 seconds.

Scan the Secure QR

In your chosen app, select 'Add Account' and point your camera at the QR code in your Vigy settings.

Back up the Secret Key

If you can't scan the QR code, use the Manual Setup Key. Write this down and keep it in a safe place (like a password manager).

Active & Shield

Enter the 6-digit code shown on your phone into the activation box on Vigy. Your shield is now active.

Lost your device?

If you lose access to your authenticator app, you will need your **Manual Setup Key** to restore access. If you didn't save your key, please contact our security team immediately at support@vigy-ai.com.
